The plate type fuel element conversion is proposed to solve a supply problem of TRIGA standard rod fresh in the long term and extend lifetime by reducing dependence buying imported elements. an alternative since Indonesian industry has been able produce such change core configuration expected improve reactor performance for irradiation facilities lifetime. SRAC2006 used perform neutronic calculations while nuclear calculated SWAT. This study begins with performing properties comparison UZrH1.6 as current material U3Si2-Al candidate. results show that Kartini possible load makes higher excess reactivity compared material. Furthermore, geometry variedly arranged new optimize parameters. composed 10 elements, 4 control graphite baffle located between active annular reflector serves additional reflector. produced sufficient adequate shutdown margin. It also negative temperature feedback power peaking factor fulfilled safety requirements. Improvement was obtained more facilities, thermal neutron flux, longer maximum estimated burn up configuration.
